The app
The MuscleMommy app for iPhone and Apple Watch does not collect, transmit or sell any personal data. It has no accounts, no servers, no advertising and no analytics. The developer cannot see your workouts.
- Stored on your device. Programs, workouts, personal records and settings are stored locally on your iPhone. The Apple Watch receives the current workout from your iPhone over a direct connection between your own devices.
- Apple Health. If you allow it, the app reads heart rate and active energy recorded by your Apple Watch during a workout, and saves strength workouts to Apple Health. Health data is used only to show and record your workouts. It is never shared, sold or used for advertising or marketing.
- Purchases. Purchases are handled by Apple. The app checks your purchase on your device. We never receive your name, Apple ID or payment details.
- Export. You can export your data as a JSON file from Settings. Where you send that file is up to you.
- Deleting your data. Deleting a workout in the app removes it. Deleting the app removes all of its data. Workouts saved to Apple Health can be removed in the Health app.
This website
musclemommy.life uses two analytics services. PostHog, hosted in the US, counts visits and compares two versions of this page. Google Analytics counts visits and shows how people find the site. Between them they record the pages you view, which version you saw, clicks on the App Store button, the site that sent you here, your browser and device type, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. Both are loaded through our own subdomain, api.musclemommy.life, which passes your IP address on to them for that location. Advertising features and Google signals are turned off. We don't use any of this to identify you, and it isn't connected to the app.
Cookies. The banner asks before anything is stored in your browser. If you accept, PostHog and Google Analytics each store a random identifier in a cookie, so repeat visits are counted once and you see the same version of the page each time. If you decline, or until you choose, visits are still counted but nothing is stored, and each visit looks new. Your choice itself is kept in your browser's local storage so the banner doesn't ask again.
The page works the same if you block or turn off scripts.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and collects no data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
